James Povijua is the Illinois Domestic Workers Bill of Rights Campaign Director. In this capacity he works with a broad coalition of worker and member driven organizations, and community, faith, and labor groups. Together with allies, the coalition is working to pass strong legislation and to organize power among the state’s domestic workers. James has more then 9 years of professional experience in organized labor, community organizing, and public policy. From working with lawmakers to champion new legislation to building strong coalitions that lift up grass roots leaders; James has worked to empower workers to create important social change within their profession and their communities.
